band challenge's over. and juxtapose won CHAMPION! sonofa was the 1st runner up and they get to be featured on mtvvvvvvvv! so they're equally cool cool cool! :D
it was a really really long day yesterday. from 9am at the studio till like 6pm when the whole event ends. it doesn't sound that long but it was really quite eventful and so i would have had the feeling that it was really a long day. crap. anyway, MY FRIENDS ARE VERY AWESOME! both bands rocked on stage lah! S-O-L-I-D!
so the day started off with sarah waking up late and therefore her dad came to fetch me like half an hour late too - meaning that i could have slept for half an hour more! andddd then, when we reached the studio, people turned up late and stuff. so i really could have slept moreeee! but anyway, we started moving instruments out of the studio and then off we went on uncle choo's cab, with two surdos tied to the top of the cab.
that was when morning started for all of us. we were all tired and stuff but uncle choo's playlist was too happening to resist. he had an album of primary school techno hits blasting away! classic hits like butterfly, the tarzan song, well i don't really know the exact titles for those but the taxi driver in calcutta one was like the awesome-mest. personal favourite. HAHA! four of us sitting at the back had to squeeze cheek to cheek hahaha butt cheek to butt cheek. but it wasn't that bad la cus the techno hits diverted all our attention!
cab ride was quite CHOPCHOP. we had to start unloading the instruments before we'd had enough of the techno hits. moving of instruments was really efficient because everyone was just lugging whatever we could and again, before we knew it, everything was unloaded already.
next up was sound check, which spent a grand total of 30 minutes on drumset alone. it was a very draggy experience la, i was seriously STONING. i secretly think the sound check people are quite stupid.
after soundcheck was LUNCH TIME AT LIANG COURT MACS! that was where yanyan was! super cute boy with curly whirly hairrrrr! :D :D and that was where yazzit tore his favourite pants too. HAHA! not so much of interacting with the band members; it was more of interacting with the small boy!
lunch time was a quick one, before sonofa got geared up in their school uniforms to go on stage! as the competition went on, it was plenty of photo taking - not the camwhoring type, but the offstage-onstage type. i tried so hard to catch nice shots of all the bands with my friends in them k. hahaha! but i think i failed horrendously. my camera's batt was dying on me after juxtapose so i used sarah's camera to take pictures of sonofa and damage control and the results. but nevermind i bet i managed to catch a few nice shots here and there, right sarah tan?
so then again, juxtapose was the champion band while sonofa was 1st runner up and they get to be featured on mtv!
after results and such, we had to load the instruments back up onto uncle choo's cab. took roadie photo with the other two roadies and then left the band early with sarah and parents and candace for free car ride home!
i think i'm blogging too much of the painfully mundane stuff. i realised i can't write without pictures substantiating my points. i suck.
today's mahler day, i'm going to be a hardcore die-hard mahler fan NUMBER 1!
