and i gave up during the calls today. i just stopped and paid attention to my repenique counterparts while they whacked the drums away during the calls. other than that today was really happening! didn't care how retarded my side steps look like, i just took damn big side steps. i think everyone will look damn good wearing the same thing on 25th July itself. people, you SAW IT. yes it's on 25th july, its an event called Night Festival, jointly organised by the Singapore National Museum and ZOUK. yes zouk. the party zouk. hahaha!
"Bloco Singapura, as the name implies, is a bloco-style street percussion act made up of 100 members selected from various schools, organisations and percussion groups. Led by the Rei Momo (the ceremonial king of the parade), a procession of high-flying performers dance to a pulsating chorus of afro-inspired beats from their bateria percussion ensemble. The percussion and band performance will culminate at the stage on Singapore Management University Campus Green where they will present a world-music inspired set of five songs sung in Yoruba, Portuguese and English."

A regular fixture on Zouk’s event calendar for the past 8 years, this is the first time Fresh! will take place outside the club. The festivities culminate at the set of special guest turntable meastro DJ Shortkut from the Unites States."

For the first time, 5 NHB museums in this precinct will team up to offer free admission by 6pm and stay open late till 2am. The National Museum will stay open on both weekends while the Singapore Art Museum, Asian Civilisations Museum, Peranakan Museum as well as Singapore Philatelic Museum will stay open from 6pm to 2am on 25 July.
